IMO this is a poor choice for cooking have you checked out induction that is IMO so much better than old electric type cooktop and will boil water very fast. I think what you are describing is induction

I switched from a range with radiant elements (like the Cafe model pictured) to an induction range. Induction is so much better: faster to heat the food and much more responsive to changes in power level. The Cafe CHP95362MSS is an induction model as is the GE Profile PHP9036DJBB with different controls but identical elements ("burners"). I prefer knobs to digital controls so I'd consider the Frigidaire Professional FPIC3677RF.
