Placing wall sconces around mirror in bathroom

Renovation question:
Is there a “ rule of thumb” measurement to determine placement of sconces by a round vanity mirror? I have a 32” round mirror & 2 one light sconces to go on either side of mirror. My vanity will be 48” wide.
