I don’t think the floors you chose are a great idea. IMO, you need to either match the existing near-perfectly or do something entirely different. Much darker or lighter or a different color (grey/weathered) or an entirely different material. If not, and they are just close, I think it will look like a mistake. Your choice is close (and lovely) but the plank size and color are off.

Also, I suggest that whenever you choose for the stairs is also placed on the landing. It looks like they had a third finish for that?

Agree with @elisejames - I think something totally different will look best, "close but not quite" tends to look like a mistake with flooring

My thought is what if we leave the risers as is and change the granite to a black hardwood? And we’ll change the railing to an updated more modern black? Would we also do the black hardwood at both landings? (The one at the bottom comes out of the garage).

That’s a great idea. Definitely hardwood at the landing that is tile. Does the other landing match the wood through the rest of the house?

The other landing is the last one pictured and has the same tile at the bottom! The floors you see peeking through are different and we just renod. in a perfect world i would just re do all the floors but its not our forever home and i cant being myself to rip out real bardwood to relace with laminate haha. im a bit concerned about it being too dark. any ideas on if we didnt do the landing black?

Does the tile run all the way down a hallway? Or is it really just the landing area? If it runs all the way, then leave the tile at the bottom. If it is just a landing, then treat it as the rest of the landing. If you are worried that black is too dark, how about more of a weathered grey (but for all of it and not just the landings). FWIW, the black wouldn’t be that much darker than the tile or marble, so that may give you some sense of it. Also, i would definitely try to mimic the plank size of your existing floors.
