@Sheila z8a Rogue Valley OR i forget the details, but Christopher secured a job a few years ago with a park in NJ where he is the director of a large rose garden. He was also building a large antique rose collection in an historic cemetery, but not sure of the latest developments.

I just saw their listing on Zillow. They are asking $750,000, the property has 3 bds, 2 ba, 1 car garage, 2,604 sq ft, 1.06 acres. It has been on the market since Dec 29th last year. They might have priced it too high in today’s hot market,

Yes, Sheila it includes home, efficiency, equipment and inventory...... They also have a mist house for cuttings. The property is very beautiful. I think they use to raise a few chickens, It may have been listed this past December, but I don't think they were actively really wanting to sell. I think that was just feelers. No one in our rose society knew about it. She had me help to put it up on her website.

I did not know how much they were selling it for, but that actually sounds reasonable for our area of the country just house and landwise..... I think that they really don't want to sell the home as a home without the business.... but would if they had to.... just my guess.... I think they really want rose people to continue on with what they created... They are willing to help new people.... It is a turnkey operation.... I am sure someone would love it if we can just get the info into the hands of someone who is wanting it.

Sad to lose yet another nursery. Hopefully someone will take over and keep it going. As for that "other" nursery, which is K&M, they WILL still be selling Fortuniana grafted roses. It's just going to take awhile to get some inventory. Jim lost all his rootstock, and one of the ladies from a Facebook group sent him a bunch of virus-indexed Fortuniana rootstock from UC Davis in the Fall. He has now begun to propagate more rootstock off those earlier pieces and will start grafting soon. I think the goal is possibly to have grafted inventory by spring sometime. He is doing own root only so he has something to sell until then. Likely a lot of those are the Dave Bang minis. Don't give up on him. He's doing the best he can under the circumstances. He also had a lost of Covid go thru his family and staff, so he's basically working on his own.

I really think Christopher could handle this. Looks great to me. A parrot would love this. It looks very well kempt.

It is Florida. I admit I am not a Florida person, but Christopher had wanted to go. It was his dream.

I think the house is put together by a couple manufactured homes. I could be wrong but it looks that way to me. Did you guys notice that? Appraisals on manufactured homes are far less than standard homes, getting a big mortgage could be difficult.

I live in Florida.... not far from here.... Yes we have had flood the last two summers..... very unusual.... Much less than people who live by rivers or lakes in some of the northern states.....

The only reason Florida had their bad floods is that we were having celestial tides when a storm went by off the coast and stalled out.... When the tides came in they were not able to go back out when there were 8 plus feet waves keeping the tides from going out.....

The cycle for the weather will turn and we will no longer have to worry.....

I moved a little higher in elevation and about an hour off the FL coast. Our other house was right on a small river branch which could flood terribly whenever the St John's River got too high and we were getting a lot of rain. One year, I lost a ton of roses and was knee deep in water in my own backyard! My barn flooded numerous times there. Too much work, I got tired of it lol.

The house is off the market now. They took it off the market on March 16th. I talked to a friend who has a property in West Palm Beach today, and she was interested in this property, but I couldn't find the sale listing on Zillow to show her the photos. This could be a good news for the rose lovers.

Yes. summer..... I just came on to say that they took this off the market for now. They found someone to help out. They had moved out in order to show the property, but have now moved back into their home. I am happy to know that they have decided not to sell, at least for now.
