Great jokes today, Paula. Thank you! Lol that you have the special power of turning every hosta into a mini. Me, too. And I am very efficient at growing minis as annuals.

I have perfected the art of the vanishing hosta, no matter the size... le sigh. But she keeps trying.

The dilemma about keeping the boxes is me to a "T". Yankee thrift prevails!

First photo has Blue Mouse Ears, Green Thumb, Tiny Gems, and Gemstone as the minis (Blue Ivory, Martini, and Heuchera Dale’s Strain also present. Second is Picasso, Cameo, and Miniskirt. Third is Virginia Reel which is a very small plant for me. Last has School Mouse (looking more like Church Mouse, but a good grower by mini standards), Munchkin Fire, and Pilgrim.

Yah I've got boxes stashed around, just in case they might come in handy someday.

Roxanna - I like that "yankee thrift". My DW calls me SAD (stingy ass dutchman)).

I've got a few minis but a some do seem to disappear every few years.

Peren, old_dirt and Beth, you reminded me I also have Miniskirt. Peren, I love your Ladybug and I have a question…..my BME is in mostly shade. Yours is much bluer……is it in sun?

Old_dirt, I really like Surfer Girl!

Beth, love that Bitsy Gold…..so cute!

I love boxes and so do my cats. Have to hide them from DH he thinks they should all go to the recycle. Love all the minis. This makes me think I should collect them next.

    I would never immediately flatten a box!..you could ruin a "good" box..Lol..

peren..your mini's are so wide they don't seem like mini's Lol..

I have some of the same ones shown here..they're great so why not?..here's Venusta..so cute..

So many more fabulous examples to enjoy and so many more to covet!

Debra BME gets sun until at least 1:30 - 2:00. You added so many great ones.

Ann your venusta is a nice wide clump.

I neglected to add venusta when I posted, for shame.

    venusta

Pieter - showing variegation just like you said it might.

Late again, i know "the mini list" goes by leaf size, but I just throw the little ones in to a big pot and call them minis.

Clockwise from back left corner: Fruit Loops, Fantasy Island, Coconut Custard, Pixie Vamp, Cookie Crumbs. And when they start to crowd, they get thrown into the garden and replaced in the pot with my "miniaturized" Hosta from the garden. The little ones like the breathing room.

Clockwise from top: Coconut Custard, Lakeside Banana Bay, Smiley Face, Cookie Crumbs, Pixie Vamp.

Clockwise from top: (not so mini) Dinner Mint, Yippee, Li'l Smooch, Cherry Tart, Crumb Cake and Kaleidoscope in the middle.

Dinner Mint gets moved to the garden and Kaleidoscope moves to the edge.

A new mini pot last year. CW from top: Platinum Tiara, Cracker Crumbs, Cameo, Silver Tongued Devil, Lemon Kiss.

And overflow minis planted last year. CW from top: Hacksaw, Faithful Heart, Little Miss Sunshine.

Steve, how do you overwinter your pots in your area?

I stick them in the shed some time in November. Give them a little water in January/February but mostly just ignore them.
