Replace the valve. Its the only smart long term solution. Pick something like a Delta or Kohler this time instead of some no name knockoff. You NEVER EVER do a gut remodel without changing the valve behind the wall. And the others can be replaced from the other side of the wall No tear out of tile required.

Take the existing trim, spouts, etc. to a local plating company that refurbishes and replates automotive trim. Nickel plating is typically available in these shops and they can refurbish/plate/repolish the pieces to a gorgeous finish. Maybe not as cheap as off-the -shelf trim pieces, but certainly only a small fraction of the cost of a tear out and rebuild.

@verbo thanks and agreed. My post may not have been clear enough. I am looking for this info for bathrooms where gutting the bathroom isn’t happening. In the bathrooms where we are pulling out tile and gutting we are using Newport brass. My specific question is related to the valve we have to work with in the other bathrooms.

Look for 'universal fit' replacement handles/ controllers. There is a good chance that you will be able to adapt something. But you may have to settle for a chrome finish.
