They are designed for warm climates. It’s a 50K hole in your house’s insulation to let in all the cold. The room wont even be usable in winter.

They are used quite often here on Long Island with no issues as things evolve and the brand grows. Are they super tight, no, and really none of them are, but think about the amount of moving parts. Euro-wall is a quality product and will have no issues in Conn. properly installed.

We installed 5 Euro-wall sliders in our new construction in a warm climate. We are happy with the product, but had issues with the local installers not getting things done right the first time around. Would definitely buy the product again.

People have used sliders in the northeast for ever and they have always been less tight than standard doors, so that isn't a new problem that only plagues multi-slide or folding doors.

Thank you @chispa and @millworkman! I am glad to know that the doors are good quality. The price quote that they gave us is more reasonable than La Cantina or Marvin. Unfortunately, they can't point us to a certified installer in our area. Although they said that they will work closely with the installers that we choose.

What lead times are you getting quoted? We got our order in beginning of 2021 before supply got tight and the lead time was not too bad, but one of the glass panes was broken during shipping or handling by the window supplier. By then lead time had gotten very long and that one replacement door panel took months to arrive.

One comment about your design, if you are going to the expense of doing a large folding door, I would not be designing a 7 ft high door. That is one of the selling points of these higher end doors, that they can make these doors in taller heights to take in views and/or provide wide open inside/outside spaces.

Good point about the 7 ft doors. Unfortunately, ours is an older home without tall ceilings. So the door height will be quite limited. We can't seem to find 7 foot folding doors that look as good and perform as well as theirs. The ones that we looked at usually have thick frames which we do not care for. We received a sample of Euro-Wall's jambs, threshold, & door frames a couple of weeks back. We really like the quality. We were hoping to use Marvin (modern line) since they have certified installers in our area. Alas their quote without installation was already more than double. But if you know of any brands that's worth looking at, please do share.

@hanibi, we have to have hurricane glass for ours, so even more expensive! We went with Marvin windows, but their sliders were quite a bit more than the Euro-Wall ones. We are happy with them so far.

I think a good local installer should be able to get help and training videos from Euro-Wall and make it work.

Can anyone post photos of their Euro-wall installed doors? Also, were the price quotes through Euro-wall directly or through regional distributors/installers? Thanks!

You cannot buy direct from Eurowall, all the dealers I am aware of (us included for commercial) sell and install the product, and will not sell without install.
