Another vote for triangles. To make the pinwheel pattern work, you need more contrast between the fabrics in each half square triangle. But your HSTs look lovely in the triangle pattern. It will be a sweet baby quilt.

It's unanimous! I will go with the triangles. The original pattern that inspired me had huge triangles.
