Flowers would be needed for an id. I’m afraid those leaves are not distinctive enough to say what they are.

Could be a Viola riviniana sold as Viola labradorica? The stipule matches V. riviniana, and the purple colour? Apparently a lot of 'native V. labradorica' being sold are really the similar non native Viola riviniana. Does Labrador Violet ring a bell?

Labradorica seems the closest. I hope when it flowers it will be easier to ID. It is growing in dense shade so that may effect the color of the leaves but they are not solid green and have veining that stands out.

I didn't suggest riviniana because I assumed they were something special since they had a tag. But the appearance would fit. They're a semi-tolerated native weed in my garden.

I was hoping for Viola Silver Gem. But the veining on the leaves doesn't look quite right. I may never know. I got it at a nursery while on vacation and they had a lot of unusual plants.

The flower is a deeper purple than the camera catches.

Viola riviniana, often deceptively labeled and sold as Viola labradorica purpurea. It's a Dog Violet lending its shameful name to Viola labradorica which is now known as American Dog Violet. Name earned from British disapproval of it having no fragrance.

Very few viola species have a distinct scent - V. alba and V. odorata are about the only ones that come to mind. Most of the rest are scentless. So a whole lotta "dogs" out there!!

The leaves are questionable, so I would update when it blooms it could be Viola walteri 'Silver Gem', there's no clear shot of the stipule. Could even be a hybrid.

I found the other name tag. I usually make a name that sticks up and bury the nursery tag with the plant so if I have to I can dig it up and get the ID. I couldn't find this one until this am. It is Silver Gem. (My Grand girls 'helped' pull all those little tags up one year so now I do 2 and bury one.)
