Pool Construction Concerns

Delay due to electrical panel backorder.
Will be approximately 20 weeks.
Does it make sense for the company to clean the pool (before plaster and pebble finsh), when it will be full of ground water for almost 20 weeks? And if they clean and do the plaster/pebble finish, is it ok for the pebble finish to sit in ground water for almost 20 weeks?
Pool is in Florida, ground water is 2 feet deep without rain, going into rainy season.
Just want to protect our investment. Pool was supposed to be done in 12-14 weeks, will be 40 weeks + now.

We just moved into a custom new construction and they just did the PebbleTec and filled the pool 2 weeks ago, which was about 6 months from the time they dug the hole. We've had delays due to missing components and the pool builder just being busy.

Our pool sat for months with cement and ground/rain water. They didn't say it was a problem. They did have a pump hooked up, so if they needed to do any work they could drain out the dirty water.

Once they come to clean and do the preparation for the PebbleTec, they usually try to get it done within a few days, or they will need to pay the guys to come back out and clean. Once the PebbleTec gets installed, the pool needs to be filled right away and filters up and running.

If you are at the cement stage, then I wouldn't worry about the pool sitting, but if they have done your PebbleTec finish and did not fill the pool, then you have a problem.

First, find out exactly what panel they need. They may be reluctant to divulged that information.I know supply chain is bad and I do know electricians have a back up on items. There has to be an alternative to allow your pool to get started up.

They should have at the very least been on top of materials needed for your job and ordered when you signed your contract, or if it is something commonly used, order extras for future job.

The pool is ok with the groundwater, just keep pumping it out.

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned prior to plastering. We always truck water in after plastering to hydrate the finish immediately. Especially important in Florida with the heat and hot sun. The plaster can dry too quickly in extreme heat conditions and cause shrink cracks or crazing.

The filtration system must be started immediately after filling and the water tested, balanced and treated diligently.

I'm commiserating. And also sending a message to our awful pool builder to make sure anything like this is already ordered for our pool. Our pool company hasn't even broke ground yet, and we are at 44 weeks in. Florida contractors really do earn their reputations, don't they? It has become like a curse word from us.
