I like to see mirrors be similar width to the vanity sink, in the range of 18"-20" or better.

For lights, much better to have light coming from each side instead of coming from overhead (producing unflattering shadows). Also consider fixtures that produce both up and down lighting, so there is some light bounced off the ceiling.

Is the vanity set into an alcove or is there wall space on either side? What is the distance between the centerline of a sink and the edge of the vanity closest to it? How wide is the sink?
