im not a fan of any of those really, but I think the placement of the junction box is off as well.

I would have put them higher and used them as art lights or low and used them as stair lights.

Adding a few photos of the powder bath that is somewhat across the hall from the stairs. I wish I had more photos to share, it's just that not much has been done. Also adding a few photos of fixtures going other places in the house.

@Margaret Carroll Interiors Thank you so much for the suggestions. Similar to @loobab , I too love the first option - I think the natural element of the alabaster goes great with the overall vibe of the house (although the powder bath isn't the best representation of that).

@RL Relocation LLC I really appreciate your mock ups! They help me visualize shape in this weird area! Seeing all of those options together, I love the look of the large (heavy on the eye) black sconce but am also thinking I should look at an alabaster option in a tall format (although will that disappear on the wall?).

Also - a few of the tall alabaster options I have found are $700+ per fixture which might be out of my price range.

Faux alabaster, justice design group. all shapes and sizes, but other brands make them as well. maybe even minka. I love that idea.
