Is the furniture arranged to face the lake? Perhaps make multiple areas as the space looks big - put a grouping of seats near the railing so you can easily see the lake. Have a second grouping that is always in the shade and can see the lake. Then treat it just like a deck - perhaps a fan, some citronella candles, Do you want to picnic there? Unify it with color - and you can work on it over time, adding and subtracting.
