I have a well-established brugmansia that I have over-wintered in my basement. All of its leaves have fallen off and it is alive but dormant. I want to start rooting a cutting for my neighbor. Do I need to wait until the dormant plant is back outdoors developing leaves, or can I take the cutting from the dormant plant and place in water to get it to root?
