Now that the flowers are coming up and beginning to bloom, it's time to think about the Spring Swap. We will be available the first, third (maybe) and fourth Saturdays of May.

We should be around too.

I would love to attend if it's not too far away! I've only been to one swap and that was 12 years ago when it was in Longmont. My weekends in May are pretty open at this point, so I'm going to stay tuned for the location and see if it works out :)

I'm good for any weekend in May except for the third one (graduation season is almost upon us!)

I'm starting a new job in a week that will require one half day Saturday a month. Hopefully it won't have bad timing!

I'll put in another vote for the first or last weekend in May — got some family stuff to attend to in the middle.

I should be bringing heirloom veggies.

I'm in Erie (south of Longmont, east of Boulder), so if it's not too far of a drive I hope to go this year. Things I have that I could bring include snowdrop anemone, prairie winecups, possibly some baby shrub volunteers (I'll have to double check which ones), as well as various flower seeds.

FYI all, the Broomfield Library is finally opening a seed library, and as the "kick-off" event there's a community seed swap on Saturday 4/23 from 10am to 1pm. Details here.

Anyone up to hosting? Or perhaps meeting in a park somewhere? I remember the swap in Longmont where we all goofed around on the playground equipment. Fun times. :)

I remember that one too-- I think it was 2010 when my kids were toddlers. Now they're in high school! I don't think I could host something in our yard as big as the 2010 swap, but if it's a smaller swap (there seems to be less traffic on this forum than in those days), I would be open to hosting. There's also a park in my neighborhood that might work... Let me see if I can figure out if we'd need to get permission to host it there.

Edited to add: The park in our neighborhood doesn't require a reservation, so is a possibility if that works for most people.

I haven’t been around as much because I’ve been doing a lot of hydroponics but Id consider hosting (Lakewood). Not sure my availability is a good fit though. I have a curling 🥌 bonspiel the first weekend and I don’t know what time my games are yet.

Sooooo... probably not the first weekend in May at this point, eh? (Though that would still work for me!)

We're going to be gone the 2nd and 3rd weeks of May, which truly cuts into my gardening plans. I'm up for an end of May swap, at least of tomatoes and peppers.

Right now I have about 20+ tomato seedlings that will soon get tossed before we leave if no one takes them all. They have NOT been transplanted into bigger pots, are about 2-3" tall, If anyone is interested, we could meet halfway.

2 Korean Long - red paste 6-14 pz. with a point

2 Not Purple Strawberry - purple 8-12 oz.

2 Black Strawberry - 1 oz, cherry

2 Rosedale - dark pink 6-12 oz.

3 Olive Hill - pink 12-18 oz.

2 Owen's Purple - purple 6-8 oz.

2 Sun Sugar - orange cherry

8 Volt F2 - pink brandywine 10-12 oz. (survived the 2020 September snow and produced fruit. Some are PL and some are RL.

Unfortunately, someone has to take them all.

I will double check the number of picnic tables, but from memory I think there are 4. The last Saturday (28th) would work for me. I also have lots of Lily of the Valley if anyone is interested.

I’m hoping to have my yard dug up and a waterfall going in that weekend but we haven’t booked the backhoe yet so I’m not sure. Last thing before we finish up with a deck!

I can help keep them watered and under lights while you are gone tomatoz if needed.

Hi all! So glad I didn’t miss the swap! I would be happy to host in my yard in northwest Arvada on May 28th, I have picnic tables for the potluck, and a shady area for the plants. And I now have a bathroom in our new workshop that’s easy to access from the yard.

I can make May 28, but my starts will be big.

I have plans on the 21st, so it will have to be the 28th if I’m to host.

I’ll start a new post with instructions for getting my address and such, unless people would prefer a park or a different date.

I’ll be putting in a waterfall and the mini excavator will be “on-site” for Memorial weekend so I’m not 100% I could make it or go very far but then again my back and arms might need a break. All that to say I think someone should make the call and go for it! I could always drop a couple things off with Tomatoz.

Faith, it looks like you're hosting. In the past for swaps we've started a new thread "Who's coming? what are you bring?, etc." Should we do that again?

Unfortunately, I have a graduation conflict this Saturday so I won't make it to the swap. But if anyone ever happens to be in the Erie area, feel free to DM me and you are welcome to some lily of the valley anytime! I got a single bulb at the swap in Longmont 11 years ago and now have a HUGE patch of it (plus one smaller patch).
