I think black to go with light and door knob. Pretty!

I think the black shows more contrast with the wood of the bench and it also complements the console table better. Brown may go with some other areas of the house but I don't think the black is too contrasting because of the piece is wood. We have an organic element to things in the house.

IMO the pieces you posted give us no idea of your style . I will sya that lighting is horrible for an entry . I rarely like black hardware on dark wood doors and I need a lot more info.I actually would begin by getting a large piece of art to hang on that large wall and I need measurements since the entry does no look large .

The hardware is bronze not black. Yes I know the other parts of my house but I don’t post all of it. We did a large renovation so many rooms were redone.

The immediate entry in that area only had the closet doors which are facing the green front door, there is no large wall for the art you mentioned. In the L shaped area where we have the pendant and we have a large art piece above the Asian antique console table. Not sure if that helps. We don’t have a big wall space in entry and needed to use the flushmount for the entry bc of the front door opening and hitting anything which is a pendant. I will post the L which shows how it looked before renovation and close to what I will look like soon (bc less changed). We didn’t have that front entry before as our front door faced the side of house which didn’t make sense. 1912 house.

Beautiful home you’ve done wonderful things and love the family room. You need to reserve some wall space to display the kid’s artwork in a special way.

Just beyond the front door we made the porch into a playroom/office (playroom till they grow) and we finished the basement which now has a playroom so plan to add art in those spaces as you know so much of it. There is a blank wall above the desk

You've done a beautiful job! Either bench will work, but the black may have a bit more personality, plus it accents the black door..

The benches are made by Union Home and it is called the Cove Bench. If you put in Cove Bench into google, you should be able to find a few retailers who carry it. Einportlandor - the front door is actually a hyperpigmented green - Studio Green by Farrow & Ball. We are very happy with it.

The photos of the bench are really small. The black one looks grey-ish, which I don't care for, and the brown bench is not so very brown.

If you do black, it should really be black, and if you do brown, it should be a rich chocolate brown.

I also don't favor the woven strips of leather. They are not very sturdy and tend to give way to people's weight over the years.

That bench will tend to have a lot of use with people of all sizes sitting on it to put on and off their shoes and boots. An upholstered or reinforced bench or ottoman covered in leather will be far sturdier.

Looks nice there, good decision.

I am glad it is well made and sturdy, it is so nice to find things that way these days.

Ages ago, my parents had those folding chairs they took to the beach that were made of interwoven strips of some sort of waterproof synthetic wrapped around an aluminum frame.

And those chairs lasted forever.

How nice to find good craftsmanship.

We did leather stools on the peninsula but not woven. I am waiting for dining chairs for nearby banquette which will have woven chairs paired with banquette. It shows if you scroll above to the pics. these will be the dining chairs for banquette: Fenton Dining Chair
