The fireplace was about $4700.00 installed. It was more than we had wanted to spend, but ever so glad we did. We have the TV off to the side on a Sanus swing arm placed for height-appropriate viewing. (no neck stain) This weekend we are having a sound bar added. It attaches to the Sanus swing arm. This particular fireplace comes with a 5 ft. high steel stud framing that prohibits TV placement above. Placing the TV above any fireplace should never be your first choice, unless limited space dictates. Also the first ft. of wall directly above the firebox gets very hot, so you need to remember that when placing art work above. You should sit on your couch and eye up a comfortable height in which to veiw both your TV and fireplace flame. Linear fireplaces are best viewed differently that standard fireplaces as the firebox is shorter in height. We placed ours 23" off the floor, (bottom edge of finished exposed fireplace to floor) making the centre of the viewing area about 31' off the floor. It is important to consider the seating heights of the people in your home.(eye levels).We also opted for the glass bits around the flames and it looks like city lights at night. You can have interior up-lighting on inside the firebox, with or without the flame on. This is a standard feature. Very cool! I designed a wrap around ledge/bench look to ground our asymmetrical fireplace/TV wall design. You might also be interested to know I source a product called Magnesiacore board that is fire-rated for high BTU fireplaces such as this one. Standard cement board will not stand up to the intense heat and the flexing of the steel studs. I am presently in the process of working out all the installation details for the entire wall surround using magnesiacore board and modern tile to complete the contemporary look I am after.
