Gee. Those do look like cockroaches. If they are, they are probably not the actual problem. Can you focus on them better? Drown or freeze one first if you must.

The white fluffy stuff could be mealybugs. The other bugs may be some kind of weevil. The lack of perkiness in the leaves is likely from lower light, or could be thirst. Or could be from mechanical damage, pushing them down too far.

Thanks Fori and Tiffany. I havent actually seen the cockroach things since. I applied some all round pest product (includes controlling mealey bugs) ~ hopefully the leaves will stop bending and snapping 🙌🏻

Keep it in a spot where the sun shines on it for at least an hour per day and the leaves should stay perky (if not otherwise unhealthy).

Yeah, unless you're growing your ponytail outdoors, I would refrain from getting the leaves wet. There's no need for it. That could quickly lead to rotting out the central growth of the plant. They'll do perfectly fine having their leaves kept dry. Only water the base of the plant.
