Love the items in your last picture. Make sure the white of the tile is the same tone as the white in your cabinetry.

With a faux marble counter I would not use a different faux backsplash. Either the same as the counter, or a solid tile in any color that matches the counter . Or a 4-6" splash out of the counter material and paint above it.

With so many black pieces, I'd look into same as counter, for a sleek look, uninterrupted visually that way.
