If anyone has any better idea, I'm game. I sprayed everything with horticultural oil this past winter. Should I spray with a copper fungicide?

I too have some plants like this, Alana. I feel badly for them but don't do anything. I have read Tea roses prefer an injured cane to being pruned. Of course, if the cane dies I do prune it off. Here, I chalk it up to being borderline for this climate which can freeze then thaw in the Spring.

Eventually, the plants will sort themselves out. I do hate seeing this in the meantime.

I am trying to pretend some grass at the plants crown will be protective. I was finishing pruning off perennials today finally. We really are getting somewhere toward real Spring.

When I see tiny injured baby roses, I wish I would have left them in a pot. The pots look so good.

You are right Shelia. I cut alot of diseased wood off seratepetala , spelling could be off, a few years ago, and it did not appreciate it, and almost died. Now it is lopsided, but I won't be touching it again. It will fill out eventually.

I would leave it alone too, Alana. Can you let us know what its name is?
