First thing is delete two of your other posts in order to keep answers to one post. Cannot really tell anything from the close up pic's you posted. What brand siding is it? What do the manufacturers instructions state for installation? If you have doubts ask the supplier to send someone to look at the installation. You should not be telling the contractor how to install or fix the siding. You own the issues down the road if you take ownership now.

It's a little sloppy, but I don't think it's going to hurt the performance. This exposed fastener siding/roofing in large pieces is not as refined a product as other sidings.
