I would paint all the staircase, handrail and main baluster with the colour you have and leave the balusters ( spindles) in the wrought iron. I think it works well with your living room and entry way.

Either paint all the stair railing/baluster/trim or leave it all as-is. I think a mix looks very odd.

Personally I prefer the stain.

I love the look of black balusters and stained wood. I had a new oak staircase installed a few years ago and chose stained wood with black balusters. You have a lovely home!!

I need mine with wood banister and steps, black risers and black metal spindles. This was my Houzz inspiration photo. It looks great.
