You should‘t need a sleeve, get a pot with drainage and a saucer. If you want to use the vase for the aesthetics, you can use a plastic pot sitting inside the vase. just be sure to have space at the bottom for drainage

Marciagaye, I agree with James below, My rule is if I have a plant that likes a bit more moisture around the roots, (usually Phals.) I use a standard plastic pot. If I have a plant that likes to dry out a bit faster, and is top heavy, (usually Cattleya types), I use an unglazed clay pot. I always use "azalea" pots...they are shorter in relation to their diameter, and when I can find them, use the "orchid" clay pots with a drain hole in the bottom, and slots cut in the side. That way you don't have to search the internet for pots-my Lowes has these in stock all year.

I bought some from someone on etsy.com. You also buy them from repotme.com or Amazon. If you Google "orchid pots" I'm sure you will find other sources. I've stopped putting my Phals in a ceramic cachepot if they're not top-heavy with a bloom spike. They seem to do better with more air circulation for the roots, and they also grow more, and healthier roots.
