vanity light backplate/spacing help

I will have a 64” vanity between two walls. Above the vanity will be 2 20” medicine cabinets. We ideally want 3 sconces.

As the vanity is actually 2 30” vanities with a 3” pullout between them and filler (time constraints), we don’t have to center the sinks on the 30” vanity perfectly and they can still be “centered” on the run.

Most vanity lights have 4.5” backplates.

  1. If we center the sinks on the 30” vanities, it leaves about 6” to wall. Would a light that has a 4.5” backplate (but is actually around 3” diameter) work? Not much room backplate to mirror but would that matter?

  2. Should we move the mirror (and sink) over about 1” instead?

  3. Anyone have suggestions for affordable lights with smaller backplate? We like the long vertical sticks/saber style.

Told we need light dimensions by Friday.
Thanks!!!
