I am one of those people who get attached to things. When we moved to florida, we sold a lot of furniture, most was newer, but there were a few pieces that I lugged down here and guess what, im going to find new homes for them. My new home is a different style and im not going to style around furniture that just doesnt fit. The good news is that the used furniture market is strong. For example, I had a coat rack with a bench thing that I brought here thinking that I could use it in the garage as a quasi mud area, but I hated it there and didnt really need it. I paid probably about $150 about 20 years ago and just sold it for $200. You are going to try to build a suit around a button (as my mom would say) and sacrifice function over sentimentality. My advice is to find new homes for the furniture that you no longer need and use the money for a fabulous pantry.

You could keep extra dishes, serving pieces in it. Really anything that you are planning on storing in your pantry. I take it you would like it to be an attractive display rather than simply storage. That’s why am suggesting extra dish-wares and serving pieces.
