Appreciate the views. The light is going. I haven’t liked it since I put it up. I want to buck the trends and go with a brass light and ideally a brass mailbox, but I under estimated how hard it would be to find a simple rectangle brass wall mount.

I like the old zigzag design of the house plaque but it’s seen better days. I plan to paint it or one like it white it with house numbers painted a brass color.

I think most people don't do mail slots these days for security reasons.

I would place a locking mailbox at the curb. We had one when we lived in LA, because mail theft was a common occurrence. Consult with your local postmaster for exact location.

It’s interesting that everyone telling me to install a mail slot also says it’s more secure.

A chute into the house is required if people can see your deliveries.

You could get one like this and then use brass Rub and Buff with a clear coat for protection to make it the color you want. Or keep it black and put brass address numbers directly on it. Add a brass light above it to display the address at night.

As far as your door, I like the plain slab. It blends in with the storm door and is clean and simple. I do think a wreath or something on the door would be pretty if you're into that kind of thing.

I like the slab door, too. My parents had a mail slot and then discovered the skinny neighbor kid could reach in the mail slot and unlock the door (he only did this when my brother was locked out). My parents blocked up the mail slot and built a mail box.

Check with the PO about slot in the door - in my area all mailboxes have to be moved to the curb for efficiency and ease of delivery

I would paint the door the same color as the wood panels. Then all the green-gray wood would be edged in white trim.

Are those glass on the side that look black? Not really sure what you are concerned about for style of door to this house . NOt your typical MCM so maybe a bit more info. Those fancy lacey fronts for sure do not work. Something like this would be my choice
