vertical pull on trash pull out?

Has anyone here done a vertical pull centered on the cabinet front panel for your trash pull-out? Something like indicated in this photo? It seems to me it would counterbalance the weight of the cabinet when the bins are full, and also seems like a natural position for one's hand reaching. I also think it looks intentional. But I haven't seen discussion of that position here so maybe there's a reason it's a bad idea?

No. That doesn’t look good. And I don’t see how that is more natural for grabbing. One larger horizontal pull is all that’s needed, and it’s just as comfortable as opening a drawer, for example.

Keep the pull horizontal.

Keep the horizontal -- vertical would be awkard and just not comfortable to grab. It does look weird in that photo. You don't need to counter-balance the weight of the trash, you're not putting cement chunks in there.
