I started a post about a week ago then deleted it soon after..I decided it wasn't helpful..I said I was surprised to see hosta at Lowe's this early..mentioned a few names of ones that I saw..I don't remember saying "cheap"..was that the post you saw?..

this is why I say Lowe's has hosta too early..

their hosta were Monrovia and Proven Winners plants..pretty just nothing I wanted..I wouldn't say they were inferior..

the post was to show my surprise to see hosta..and wondering if others saw them for sale too..

Hostas too early? This is a photo of Lowe's here in Florida before Christmas 2021 with hostas for sale. Yes, I got one but it will be pretty tired by 4th of July. The struggle is real.

I bought a couple of those hosta from Lowe's as well. They are Monrovia, so I assume they monitor for HVX. They had Diana Remembered, which will probably do well for me. I bought one called Color Glory, which probably isn't Color Glory (also known as Borwick Beauty). And if it is, it probably won't do well for me (it's an Elegans sport) . But for just $7.99, it was worth the shot.

Ann, I was at HD in Fishers middle of last week, and I was stunned at how many fully leafed summer perennials. I was looking for some new pots for my porch, and didnt need to be tempted by the plants, LOL!

indianagardengirl..I saw annuals too!..it's too early to put out pots of annuals!!!..we had snow yesterday!!!..yet the garden centers are stocked..

do you think they're damaged now?..
