My new Air Fryer

It took over two years of me saying I don't need one. I have an oven. I have a microwave. I have two instant pots collecting dust in my cupboard. But I kept looking at recipe magazines and some of the recipes looked pretty decent. I decided I wanted one with a rotisserie. Then saw they can do toast. Okay, that gets rid of the toaster oven. Yay! Then I saw some dehydrate which I think will be good when I buy too many vegetables: I can dehydrate them and use them in soup later. No freezer burned veggies. I can roast. I can make a pizza. I can do steak and pork chops.

What I would like are your favourite recipes. I would like to print them off and try them out. I'm so bored with my diet lately, I could use a few new recipes.

I LOVE my air fryer and use it almost daily. I look at recipes but rarely write them down so can't provide them here. I do lots of wings/chicken. Yesterday I did seasoned zuchinni with a light crumb coat. A couple days ago I did burgers, 400 degrees and they really came out so much better than pan fried. Not as good as outdoor grilling but I don't have a grill right now.

Something simple like baked potatoes, twice-baked potatoes, vegetables, chicken drumsticks. They all work well in it. I have the large square basket. I didn't want the countertop style with the rotisserie. I already have a Cuisinart countertop oven and I know what a bear it is to clean, I didn't want another hard-to-clean appliance.

My daughter told me steak is great in the air fryer, and she's right!

Muffins . . . I still bake mine in the oven, but if I have leftover batter after filling up the muffin tin I put it in silicone muffin cups (mine are by OXO Good Grips with little handles) and bake them in the air fryer.

I haven't tried this recipe for caramelized bananas yet, but I read raves about it on Facebook:

I love my toaster oven, convection oven, air fryer, dehydrator combo, and it's so much easier to clean than a previous toaster oven. I really need to look up recipes and make some more interesting than the everyday things we've made so far.

I love my air fryer and use it almost every day. And now I have a serious case of air fryer envy, how I would love to have one like yours!! ! ! ! Mine is just a simple little 6 quart Farberware, but it is a real workhorse! Chicken, hamburgers, sausage, fish, roasted vegetables, toast, individual pizzas. It's all good.

Sorry, I don't have any recipes to offer, mainly I've just adapted the things I've always made to the air fryer. Sometimes my 'adapting' is by trial, error, and guess work (and not always successful!), and sometimes I'll Google a similar dish to get an idea of how to make it in the air fryer.

    Enjoy your new 'toy'!

I bought a 7 quart Gourmia Air Fryer a few weeks ago. I haven't been too adventurous yet but so far I have cooked a steak, grilled cheese sandwich, Pinty's frozen chicken breast fillets, frozen hash brown patties. The steak and grilled cheese turned out great. Tomorrow I plan on cooking a small turkey breast in the air fryer. I have been watching some videos just to get ideas on how to use the air fryer.

I like it for rewarming things and for frozen shrimp. Can't wait to use it with my garden produce this year. I also like making chicken wings/thighs in it. Mine is very small so there's a limit on what I can use it for.

I mostly use my Air Fryer for french fries, hashbrown or precoated fish or chicken.

So far, I've used mine for a roast (2lb on the rotisserie and it took only 1/2 an hour!), french fries which turned out good (deep fried are still better), and last night I did ham steak with roasted baby carrots. I still want to try a grilled cheese in there.
