I had the floors done by Lane Interiors in Rock Hill SC I don't know what the subfloor was made of, but it was pretty thin. The flooring was called Bali. I don't know much about it except that it is a new product. I was very happy with the professional job with little disruption in our routine. It took 3,8-10 hour days to complete and every night, they put the appliances back, so we could cook. They were so clean that nothing was tracked into other rooms. Lane did an amazing job!
