What year is this light? 1968? Should I keep it?

I have a ceiling light and find it interesting. I'm not sure if I should keep it and appreciate it or toss it. Does anyone have any information about this type of light? It looks like it could be milk glass. Will they ever come back in style? Thanks in advance for your help!
