Post a picture of the other windows in the room, please

We will obviously change the curtains and we will also widen the opening connecting this room (will be dining room) to the family room

I wouldnt add the windows on the fireplace wall. They dont look quite right, because the fireplace isnt centered on the wall, and you already have a lot of window light coming in. Its also very nice to have some wall space to put artwork and furniture on. To my eye windows in that location, would not look right or good at all. I would remove the wainscotting moulding in that room too, and when you repaint, paint the walls all the same color, rather than two toned. It is a nice sized room.

Have you lived in this house? I agree with above comment. I think adding windows will leave no walls for furniture placement

Since this is a family room, I assume that it will have a TV? Where have you decided place it? Too much daylight from many directions makes it hard to watch TV. But I totally understand wanting to reveal the view...maybe you aren't even planning on a having a TV here?
