Do you have a drawing of the front elevation so we can see how it's going to look with the front porch on? You could add a transom across the top to line up with the top of the windows.

They put this door on because the one we wanted is 20 weeks out. when it com in we w swiswitch it. i am just wonder if it will happen

I would not want the door and look that they gave you. I would make them frame everything out for the door shown in the plans, cover the hole with plywood and wait for the actual door to show up. This is pretty common in construction projects right now, so don't let them force you to settle.

Our front door was not delivered until 5 weeks before we moved in. It was a custom size and the shop that built it was really busy. It did mean that several trades had to come back to finish stuff up around the door, like hardwood floors, stucco on the outside and trim on inside. Well worth the wait to get what the we and the architect had designed.

If you are willing to settle ... I hope that they at least framed out the headers at the higher height, so you could install the door you want later on with less destruction/construction.

There is no way that door works and honestly if you ordered a custom door how was this installed in that space that was ready for the custom door and please answer the question how high are the windows .There is no way that opening was ever done for the custom door so someone failed big time.. Your new door witll be the same height which is too short . The one you wanted should have been ordered the framing done for it and aslab of plywood put over the opening and everyone use the other door .

Something is not right here. There will be no porch (with a roof), as the siding is already up and it wasn't rough framed with the rest of the house. You have an open deck.

Likewise, the scale (height and width) of the door will remain the same, as siding is up. From your comments, it sorta sounds like this door is temporary until the actual door arrives, but not sure from the cryptic writing.

I'd either ..put a transom above door to make it seem taller.. sale that door and buy a taller one..or have them lover all your windows.
