Bathrub faucet - install height question

We are installing a new Moen wall mount bathtub faucet with all new plumbing so we have some flexibility on the install height above the tub. Google says 4” above tub deck but the install instructions show 8”-11” above the tub deck. That seems high - but I assume we should follow the install guide?
