On the first picture, I am liking the reddish floors. They seem to add something to your house. On your second picture, I hate the color. Looks so different. I see, you have black windows. Maybe a black floor, and then some colorful rugs, and furniture.

Match the taupe to your siding then paint the porch ceiling pale blue.

Add a porch swing and some porch furniture, and you're good to go. If you need color, then get colorful Adirondack chairs or rockers.

I should add that we already have porch furniture and a swing that we purchased from the previous owners but I took it all off to prep for paint. Plus, the furniture was bright red, and I am painting it black.

Unfortunately, they were painted so staining them is not an option.

Floor sander. Painting a porch floor is a vicious cycle of paint, chipped paint, scrape, repaint....

I would do the new colour you show in your mock up on the floor but keep the red furniture. It pops and is fun

Consider getting a quote to have the porch sanded so you can stain it.

I would do either a dark brown, or dark blue (a blue that works with the taupe).

Natural wood or dark brown (siding color, but two shades darker).

Your mockup looks just great! Go for it. Get a paint strip that matches your siding then, as kandrewspa suggests, go several shades darker. The taupe blends so well with the setting and garden beds than the red does.

I would replace the flooring with something that doesn’t need to be be sealed and painted. IPE or prefab wood.

you're going to have to sand off that old red paint, so see what the wood looks like under it.

if you can get it down to mostly raw wood, apply an ebony transparent stain, seal.

i think a black or very dark warm charcoal would look great w/the house colors. bring in light accessories.

Your mock up looks great. It looks like the windows are a dark bronze color? i would stain the porch the same. It is 100% worth doing the labor intensive process of stripping/sanding the existing red paint off. Ask me how I know? Or even pullling them up and turning them to the underside (unpainted Ill assume ). Ask me how I know? We had a painted red porch floor done with porch specified paint in our last home. After some years we decided to paint it a different color (gray) and used the same brand paint different color. Saned it and prepped it as instructed . It was from there on out a nightmare. Constantly chipping. Slick to walk on etc etc. Take it to the natural wood and stain it the dark bronze color of your windows.

I would strip the paint and stain the wood.

Why is staining not an option? Just sand them down and stain. Paint will keep chipping.
