We need pictures of your room and your trim, and yes, you could paint bedroom trim, if its what you really want. I much prefer, to keep trim in all rooms the same. Its just a better look. It is possible to match the stain. You can even mix the stain colors, to get a very close match on the new shoe mouldings.

I need pics but IMO a bedroom can be totally different in style from the rest of the house since it is a private space . But you need to post pics and also the bedding and all furniture going into the space to give us a good idea of your style.BTW I have often painted all the trim in a craftsman home to freshen it up without losing the overall lovely look of the trim. IMO too much wood often is just not good.
