Bosch vs JennAir dishwasher

I have a Bosch 800 series on order. No ETA; appliance guy says Bosch is waiting on a specific part. And this little independent appliance store currently has over 700 orders for the Bosch, some waiting for more than a year.

I have time; cabinet install is mid-July.

He's suggesting a Jenn Air Lustre. It looks quiet and is slightly more than the Bosch. But I've never had a Jenn Air dishwasher, so I'm looking for some feedback on whether it's a good option.

And if it isn't a good option, I'm looking for suggestions. Standard 24", stainless interior, 3rd rack, recessed handle.

Thanks in advance!

I would wait for the Bosch...the 800 is the best dishwasher I have ever owned...hands-down. I have 3 of them (2 in my regular house, one in my beach house). I was able to get a Bosch 800 two months ago. Look at other sources.

Jenn-Air is a Whirlpool brand. The Whirlpool WDTA50SAKZ ($836) is very similar to the Jenn-Air JDPSG244LS "Lustre" ($1400) except for appearance. CR tested the Whirlpool model and while it did not receive a recommended rating, it did wash well and is quiet. Owners at Home Depot and Best Buy like it, it's available and well-priced.

The new JennAirs are very similar to the new and well regarded Kitchenaid models. The JennAir will be as quiet as the Bosch and its racks are for some users; easier to load that those in the Bosch. Also, check to see which brands offer the most convenient service for each of the brands.

I have a JennAir Trifecta DW (JDPSS244LL) and I think it's very quiet and does a great cleaning job. No complaints so far. I previously had a KitchenAid and like someone else said they are the same company and the dishwashers are very similar. I purchased a JennAir since we did an all-JennAir appliance package during a recent kitchen renovation.

We had a Bosch and replaced with JennAir when we renovated our kitchen. It’s literally the ONE decision I regret!! Our older Bosch cleaned so much better than our brand new JennAir.

We have the Bosch 800 dishwasher and also have a Bosch refrigerator. We had to place a call to customer service for a reason I can't remember and Bosch took care of the problem easily and quickly. So ... great dishwasher AND great customer service.

We had a Kitchen Aid DW that was awful. We replaced it with a Bosch 800 series and love it! With the KA, we had to wash everything on heavy duty to have any hope of most dishes coming out clean. With the Bosch, everything comes out clean first time on the "Automatic" cycle.

Based on my experience, I don't recommend KA (or others made by the same people), but others may disagree.

    ETA:

"The KitchenAid brand is owned by Whirlpool Corporation. Its sister brands include Maytag, Amana, JennAir, and Whirlpool."

KitchenAid/Whirlpool/Jennair (and many other) dishwashers have a two-part detergent dispenser, one part for pre-wash and one part for main wash. If you use detergent pods, only the main wash will have detergent; the pre-wash will have only water and that's when dishes are the dirtiest. Solution: use a powder detergent such as Cascade Complete and put some in each dispenser.

Here's what I do as I start my Bosch. I put a pod in the dispenser that's covered. then I put a small amount of Cascade liquid or powder on the door for a prewash.
