the hex is a mess, I'd expect a recut in that corner.

the penny tile is par... that is why I prefer to grout with a matching color, I like to notice the beauty of the tile, not the grout.

Penny tile shows every imperfection.

I don't have pics from before. They ripped out the old shower and put this one in. It took them close to 4 weeks for this

I think all of it is a mess. It is had to believe that a true professional could have installed the tiles. Hopefully you will get suggestions here on how to have it fixed. Sorry. It must be a huge disappointment (and financial concern) for you.

Yes, the corners of the hexagon tile are not well done. The penny tile cannot be looked at 3” from your nose so step back and shoot some photos for a better assessment. Also, penny tiles rarely look good before grouting.

Penny rounds are hard to match around corners, but it looks like they did not attempt to match them. Different color rounds or an optical illusion? Very sloppy installation! Rectangular tiles not evenly installed. Same for hex tiles…too much mud. Grout will not hide all the bad spacing.
Were you there to supervise as things were done? In my house, I supervise every job because I am paying for it. Mistakes can be fixed while the mud is still wet. If you don’t speak up, some workers will just rush the job and leave it imperfect. A true professional is proud of his/her work.

These are already grouted.

And that is sloppy grout on the pennies.

I see:

1. Sloppy grouting

2. Tile misalignment that is outside the bounds of being acceptable

3. Walls that probably weren't flat before they started tiling

What is under the tiles? They should have used cement backer board (shimmed to get the walls flat and plumb), taped the seams, and then properly waterproofed with liquid membrane. Did they do any of this?

Failure to square and plumb walls beforehand. Not rocket surgery.

I agree that it’s not good, and you’ll probably need to hire a different tiler if you want that type of tile to look decent. Both penny and hex require a tiler that has a lot of skill and a lot of pride in their work. I’m so sorry for the disappointment and stress.

Poor material and design choices have been compounded by bad installation. Was a sanded grout used on the penny tile? I think it will be difficult to salvage.
