Have you considered closing in the window just up to the cross line and putting TV up there with FP underneath?

Put TV and FP on solid wall, remove everything on FP wall and place sofa and there with 2 swivel chairs facing sofa?

I agree with putting fireplace and tv on solid wall, but don’t close up windows. A standard sofa and 2 chairs facing tv will work much better.

I agree with putting the tv on the solid wall but you may need a non-glare tv because of the windows.

I understand why fireplaces became the focal point of our living spaces. Years ago the family gathered around the fireplace, mom did her sewing while oldest child read aloud or they listened to a radio broadcast. Since the invention of the TV and improvements in insulation we no longer gather around the fireplace for warmth - we gather on the sofa to watch TV.

If this room will be primarily used for watching TV my primary goal would be to create a comfortable area for viewing TV.

Do you need the Fireplace at all?

I lived in Southern California and had a fireplace that was used maybe 3 times in the 20 years that we lived in the house. I moved to Central PA and use my fireplace every evening from October through April.

I do like the view and the great natural daylight streaming into this room, so I guess, if it were my home I would

either get a remote controlled blind for the larger window and get a TV that recesses into a cabinet for below the window. When watching TV I would close the blind and lift the TV. When not in use I would lower the TV and open the blind to enjoy the view.

or

Use a stand alone lift tv stand on the other side of the room and have seating on the window wall.

If it is a flat screen tv I would make the fireplace the focal point with the TV on the wall above it. This works really well if you do like a cabinet with accordion style doors that can conceal the TV when not in use.
