What do you not like about the light that’s installed?

Everything. It's cheap looking and makes me think of a giant squid.

There is nothing cheap about that light but if youdon't like it and want a cahnge you will need to find lighting that works in that height of space and one that does not move in the breeze from AC or heat. The height of the fixture you have is perfect and any higher and it would be useless. And the downlights are what you also want to look for

If you saw it up close you'd see how cheap it is. It's very dated and little plastic pieces cover the lights and they are flimsy. I agree with the type of light, was just looking to see if anyone had a specific recommendation.
