Since the space looks tight, I’d do a Roman shade on the window in a white or ivory semi sheer. Are there other windows? It would help to see the whole room. For rug, I’d also do mainly ivory with a color or two pulled from the wall art. Hard to tell color, but ivory with a warm light gray abstract print might work. Also hard to tell the color of the walls. Beige? Yellow? Khaki? Need a better photo and/or name of the paint. And to modernize the bed, don’t make it with the spread pulled up over the pillows. That’s a very outdated look. Get nice white sheets for the bed and some pillow shams to coordinate with your room. Fold the quilt back to about 2/3 of the bed so that the sheets show. It will look much fresher.

Agree that warm whites/ivory should compliment. I'd stay in the pastel range, with maybe some pale blue & green accents for pillow shams and accessories?

I think an area rug like the one below, in colours of cream, grey, and terracotta would look good. For window coverings I feel you need some side panels in heavier fabric than sheer, probably linen or linen like. Your furniture is very nice but it is larger, so think you need to frame the window with curtains to ceiling otherwise window looks dwarfed in comparison. Upgrading blinds with some woven wood ones would be nicer too.

It really depends on the look you are going for. I’d set the tone first with the rug as it will have the biggest influence.

Before adding pieces, I like to consider the room as a whole, which makes choosing items much easier. Inspiration pictures can really help. Given bedding has a big influence recommend turning down bedspread and layering for a softer, cozier feel and recommend a Roman blind.

For example, rug setting the direction:

For rug size you could mark floor with painters tape to see if that size works. A larger size would probably work better for queen bed, but you’re limited on space between bed and dresser.
Those curtains are nice, and I think they would look great with wood blinds in the same tone as buttons. Although my gut reaction are buttons may be too much being so close to dresser with the round knobs. What does rest of room look like? Possible to rearrange furniture?

I have an 8x10 under my queen size bed because I wanted to step on rug getting out of bed. A 5x7 might work if you just want it under the foot of the bed. Agree tape it out
