Dust in air after potlights

Hi, in September 2021, we had pot lights installed. Dust everywhere. Just floating in the air. We vacuumed as best as we could but, several months later, dust is still an issue. The dust is powdery. It accumulates on surfaces and, when wiped, is like lint from the dryer. Wish I could add a pic. The ceiling was popcorn ceiling (with attic insulation). Can't figure out if we are winded because of age and lack of exercise or months of inhaling this or both (!). What to do? :(

Has your popcorn ceiling been inspected for asbestos? You may be breathing in dust with asbestos in it.

'Pot lights" doesn't tell us enough.

Do you have can housing in the attic? Airtight housing or not?

Gaps like this?

Or canless disc lights?

But, whatever, it sounds like sloppy install without attention to detail. Complicated by popcorn ceiling interfering with getting a good tight fit to the ceiling.

You are going to have to do some basic investigation work--looking for gaps, checking in the attic possibly. If you have cans in the attic, then you need to see if you have can covers that are sealed to the back side of the drywall ceiling.
