Are these weeds?

The garden in front of my building is being ripped out and replanted in 6-8 weeks. I'm just trying to keep it tidy looking until then and didn't know what these plants are circled below in red. Any ideas? I realize the term weed is subjective, but I just want to make sure I'm not yanking out a prized botanical specimen.
