My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
If you're not in the Seattle area, perhaps call WindowFellas to see if they know anyone in your area. If you're able to hire WindowFellas, they can do a range of things from replacing a pane to wood or frame replacements.
Thanks - we really like it too, even more so after the remodel as there's a window seat underneath it. WindowFellas did the replacement skywall window, essentially into the existing space. We asked them to make the sill a little lower but to avoid the existing socket below - we didn't want the expense of electrical work.
They built a new wood frame to replace the old four-panel arrangement (see photo). The beam dividing the angled "roof" window from below had to be larger to support the added weight but otherwise there was no change to the wall or roof tiles above. You can see the old arrangement below and if you look at my remodeling pictures (from one year later) you can see how it looked with the new window seat.
In an area with lots of gray winter days, this window is a wonderful source of natural light in the kitchen/breakfast area.
Hi! Any update on your project? We have a skywall window which has broken seal. Very hard to find contractors to redo it. Please share any recommedations. Thanks
