Does Gree and Bosch mini splits units use the same line sets?

Hi there,

Originally my contractor installed the line sets with Gree mini splits in mind, but now Gree units shipment got delayed for a long time due to Covid, my contractor want to switch to Bosch mini splits. Wondering if the previously installed line sets for Gree mini splits is the same for Bosch? Are they all the same?

For Mini Splits, does Bosch as reliable as Gree?

Specs on lineset sizes/lengths come with the unit. You’d have to see this data for both units to compare.

The Gree mini splits are a low cost product aimed at the DIY market. I could be wrong, but I believe the line set comes come with in the box with the mini split. Does your contractor install his own line set as part of the installation? If that is the case then the size used would only be known to the contractor.

It is difficult to say which is the more reliable product. The Gree is manufactured in China and Vietnam, and other countries. I am not sure who makes the Bosch unit and where it is manufactured. I would think you would have an easier time find replacement parts for the Bosch compared to the Gree. You should look into that.

I am not a mini split expert, but if you are doing a switch you should look into a Mitsubishi or Fujitsu product.
