Wallpaper placement

have a question about wallpaper placement in mother-in-law bedroom suite w/ full bath. I plan to use a light gray n’ white grass cloth wallpaper as an accent wall around the bedroom window wall. So starting from the left to right. Wall 1 is the bathroom entry wall; Wall 2 - wallpapered “accent wall”; wall 3 Paint light gray fog, wall 4 long wall fir bed to face accent wall. Question: there’s a narrow little foyer leading into bedroom between walk 3-4 (think bedroom with t-shaped tail at end for entry). Can I wallpaper the wall in the entry facing the entry without taking away from the accent wall inside the room? My plan is to move the bed to the wall opposite from where it is currently located. (excuse the mess as we are decluttering and planning)

Sure. Two hits aren't a bad idea. I think I would do both small walls in that entry if I were going to to any.

Based on what is shown in the picture and where the entrance to the room is (or does the picture show the doors to the bathroom and closet?) I wouldn't move the bed to the opposite wall.

Use headboard wall for accent wall.

use both the headboard wall and the entry walls for the wallpaper. Before you switch the bed placement think of traffic paths. From your description that would force someone to walk zig zag from the entry door, around the bed and into the bathroom.

@kandrewspa the pic shows entry to room. I was hoping to clear current bed wall to create a little “sitting space” against a stunning grass cloth accent wall.

Sherre, does this represent the floor plan? It is based off the pictures above. Please edit/add measurements. If you could post a picture of the other wall, that would help as well. There are some wonderful people on here who can do magic with layouts and design, and the more info that you provide, the more they can assist.

Grasscloth is a MISTAKE in ANY room!!!!

I agree with Roe Dodendron, keep the traffic flow open from one end to the other. The bed looks like it is in a good place now. Try putting the nightstand on the other side of the bed, would that allow for the sitting area by the window? Accent the window-headboard wall. Also, please remove the little rugs, I assume the in-law is older and they are tripping hazards. A bed facing the window puts sunlight right in your face when lying in bed. Ps, that is a pretty comfortor.

Grass cloth may be expensive. It IS high maintenance. It is not a mistake. Be aware that the seams are supposed to be visible.

Here are my suggestions for your mother-in-law's bedroom. I show a new layout for the room but find the Grey Fog paint quite dark with the dark wood furniture so I suggest BM Simply White for a brighter more cheerful look. I presume you are keeping all the furniture but suggest a light grey upholstered headbord (to attach to the existing base) or upholstered bed with new bedding to match the new decor. A new ceiling pendant, new night table lamp, new desk lamp, and new white lamp shade for the existing night table lamp. For all the pictures on the wall, I suggest picture rails (Ikea, Amazon) to group them and can easily be changed without damaging the wall. For a senior person (I see a cane in your picture) I don't recommend an area rug to avoid tripping accidents. Light grey side drapes with either white shears or white solar shade for the window treatment. Framed art above the bed and a pillow and throw for the brown leather recliner completes the look.

Perhaps with the new decor you can help her tidy up and put away some of the many items we see in your pictures.

I would get the layout down first, then decide if wallpaper is really needed.
