Extra large planter tipping over

I purchased a Climbing Hydrangea (Schizophragma hydrangeoides) last year. I don't have a place to put it in the ground against the house wall, so I put it in a planter.

I was told at the local nursery that I purchased it from that I'd need an extra large one due to how big the plant grows and it's nutritional requirements.

I bought a rectangular planter measuring 55 x 16 x 33 inches. It weighs a couple of hundred pounds with soil and I couldn't make it budge much less move it. It was fine for a week or so after which it fell over. I was wondering if there were any suggestions on how to prevent that in the future. Presume the center of gravity was too high leading to an animal or wind tipping it over.
