Does anyone have a shggestion of what i can buy to go over this. a ceiling fan used to be installed there

I'd probably try to patch that.

However, you can also use a simple electrical outlet cover. We have one in our kitchen where there probably used to be a light. It's not ideal but I notice it maybe once a year and no one ever has noticed/commented on it.

if you still have wiring that is connected, it must be covered with a cover as suggested by above post.

if not, and the wire has been removed or no longer connected, you can patch it up with drywall repair patch and some joint compound.
