Pee the manufacturer website, "ADURA®Max floors are low-gloss floors; use polish or "mop and shine" products only if you wish to make the floor shiny."

As discussed in many threads on Houzz when you add shine products to plastic (which is what LVP is) you'll get a slick floor for well before it. And as discussed on many threads on here, LVP flooring trended to the matte and low luster so when you choose that's it's normal state. If you want to gloss or semi-gloss you should have picked that product.

Well, thank you for your rather "direct" response, Jen K (I hope you didn't mean to be so direct). I appreciate you taking your time to respond.

The FIRST place I checked was the Mannington website and read what you have quoted above. I even went so far as to email the company and got the same quoted information from their website, which didn't answer my question.

After that, I searched on Houzz for other questions regarding using polish on the floors. There are not "many threads" specific to polish; there were two other than mine and they didn't answer my specific question. There were several others about the "trend" to matte finish and disappointment with the upkeep (which is not my question).

As for picking something else if I wanted a semi-gloss, the samples in the store were about 1.5 - 2 feet square boards and I didn't see the "haze" until the flooring was installed and the light shone in through the windows (another poster mentioned this experience, as well). I am aware that polish will make the floor more slick--I am a Latin and ballroom dancer and would actually like a little more "slip," so I'm fine with that because then my friends and I can dance on them.

I feel I did my due diligence in research (hours on Houzz and other websites) and was not complaining about my product; I was simply wondering here if anyone had any experience with using polish. I guess I will try it myself and let people know my experience in case anyone else has a similar question. Again, thank you for taking the time to respond. :-)

@sherryw12 there's entirely too much drama (and weird information not relevant to your query) in your response, especially for one regarding house questions. Perhaps there's a reason no one has responded - it's a low luster question. Keep huffy.

OP I know it's an older post but did you find a solution (sorry for the pun) to making your floors shine? We are facing the same decision point now, there's a lvp that looks great but it's matte finish and I don't like that

No, unfortunately I gave up. :-( I just don't pay attention to it anymore--LOL. If you think you want a bit of shine, make sure from the beginning the flooring has that finish. (But I will say, if you walk with bare feet, you will see the footprints on the shinier surface, so I'm trying to be content with my choice.)

I cannot imagine anything worse than shiny plastic floors. Reminds me of grammas plastic covered flowery sofa in the room that almost never got used. Shllllpp schllllp every time you walk instead of every time you sit. If you want a gloss floor, you want actual wood, with a piano finish and a full time maid.

I am not happy with my new LVP floors. They do not look like the floor sample that I used to select it. I would rip them out and install laminate or engineered hardwood if I hadn't spent so much on the "premium" quality LVP. It feels like I'm walking on plastic. ugh. The garage comment made me laugh!
