Garage door selection

I'm in the process of having a garage built and my architect originally specified double-wide doors made of several flat sections. Later, he changed his mind to two rollup doors, because a) the double-wide doors were $8000 installed and b) the rollup doors (at $2000 each uninstalled) made the storage space above the cars more accessible. Any comments?
